Kathmandu, Sept 1: The government has reduced the passport fee to the Nepalis in Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Israel, Syria, Jordan and Yemen.
Today’s meeting of Council of Ministers took the decision in this regard, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Before this, the Nepalis in these countries had been paying Rs 80 US dollar as passport fees. Now, they have to pay 50 US dollar for the same.
According to the Ministry, the government took the decision in this regard at the proposal of the Ministry with an objective of reducing financial burden on the Nepalis, who are there for overseas employment.
The decision would come into effect only after the publication of the notice in the Nepal Gazette.RSS
