Rukum, Feb 8: The Taksera Concern Committee on Tuesday took out a demonstration at Rukum’s headquarters demanding establishment of the Putha Uttarganga Village Council centre at Taksera village.

The Committee took out a rally which went around the Rukum downtown in early morning hours before staging a simultaneous sit in protest in front of the District Development Committee and District Administration Office.

The locals were protesting what they termed as a different proposal coming from the Local Body Restructuring Commission for setting up the village council which did not tally with the decision taken by district’s political stakeholders and technical assistance committee.

Struggle Committee Coordinator Juddha Budhamagar said that although Taksera village remained the most appropriate place for everyone, the authorities determined Kol VDC as the village council centre which did not do justice for them.

The locals even declared Taksera a ‘prohibited zone’ and launched agitation in Khalanga, the district headquarters. Budhamagar warned that the agitation would continue unless the decision is corrected as per their demand. RSS
