Biratnagar, March 25: Chairman of Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) Mahantha Thakur has hinted at avoiding the local level polls until the deals agreed in the past with the government were implemented.
At a news conference organized by his party here in Biratnagar today, he said that the constitution should be amended along with the delineation of the provinces from the proposed bill registered in the House and the Article 274 of the Constitution of Nepal should be amended.
Saying that the Madhesi Morcha was clear to protest the polls peacefully, the TMLP Chairman said that the local level polls would be unacceptable to Morcha is the polls were held forcefully.
On a separate context, he said that the agenda of CK Raut was totally different than that of Madeshi Morcha. Arguing that population should be considered as a key determinant for state restructuring, Thakur said that existing report on state-restructuring was not acceptable for the Madhesi Morcha for allocating less units to Tarai region.
