Kathmandu, March 25: CPN (UML) senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that country cannot develop until mega projects were developed.

At a workshop organized by UML’s foreign affairs department in the capital today, leader Nepal claimed that conspiracies are being hatched to stop the mega projects in the country and added that reforms were required in the law to expedite development works.

Stating that Nepal’s bureaucracy was not development-friendly and the court was also stopping the development works, the former prime minister urged to visualize tomorrow’s prospect besides today’s needs. “We can progress a lot from the mobilization of national capital, technology and human resources,” Nepal added.

During the programme, former finance minister Surendra Pandey presented Nepal’s development model and argued that the politics should be for generating prosperity unlike right-based approach of the past.

Chairperson of SAARC Chamber of Commerce Suraj Vaidhya, UML leader Dr Bijaya Poudel, sociologist Hari Sharma, legal expert Dr Yubraj Sangraula and sociologist Dr Suresh Dhakal also made their comments on the occasion. RSS
