Bhaktapur, Sept 4: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Shankar Nayak, has said that the government has been making preparation to hold all three-level elections on slated time.
At a programme organised by the Rafat Sanchar Club here today, Law Minister Nayak said that the government was ready to hold the elections as a constitutional crisis would occur if they were not held with January 2018.
Stating that election of local bodies was essential and that nobody was against it, he said that consensus and collaboration among political parties was necessary for the elections.
Minister Nayak stressed the need of constitution amendment to implement the three-point deal signed between the incumbent government and the Madhesi Morcha before formation of the new coalition. He further said that an environment conducive for election would be created along with addressing of the demands of Madhesis by amending the constitution.
Stating that judiciary of Nepal is not free from corruption and irregularities, Minister Nayak said that he would work to control such corruption and irregularities. RSS
