Kathmandu, Sept 6: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said creating an environment conducive for the visit of the followers of Buddhism to Nepal would clear the path of economic prosperity.
During a meeting with a delegation of Buddhist Association of China at his official residence in Baluwatar, PM Dahal argued that a huge presence of Buddhist community in Nepal would allow the spread of the message of peace in the world over and contribute in Nepal’s economic and tourism sectors.
“Buddha’s education is all-encompassing and timeless. It will be useful for people seeking world peace. I am totally confident that the message of peace should spread from Nepal and it will as it is the birthplace of Buddha,” PM Dahal added.
Referring to the life of Magadh Emperor Ashoka – who shunned wars for sake of peace – PM Dahal said he returned from war to join peace process and spoke of his desire to make positive contribution to spread the message of peace in the world.
The delegation told the PM of their readiness to lend support to the land of Buddha for world peace, PM Secretariat stated in a press statement. RSS
