Itahari, Sept 9: The Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health and Sciences (BPKIHS) is gearing up to augment its medical services in the near future.
Vice-Chancellor of the Institute Prof Dr Balabhadra Prasad Das shared this at a programme organized here by BPKIHS on Friday to mark its 23th anniversary as well as the 103rd birth anniversary of the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Nepal- BP Koirala-upon whom the Institute is named after.
According to VC Das, the Institute was going to establish 200-bed Cancer Hospital, 400-bed health facility for children and mothers as well as 200-bed neurosurgery and cardiology service within its premises.
He admitted that although the BPKIHS has achieved a remarkable feat in the open heart surgery service in a short span of its establishment, there were still a whole heap of works to do in the medical sector.
Also speaking at the programme, Prof Dr Mahesh Chandra Mishra, Director of All India Medical Science of College (AIMS) at New Delhi, India was all praise for the BPKIHS for attaining fame in South Asia for its quality health services.
He urged one and all to acknowledge the fact that the Institute had fulfilled the vision of leader BP Koirala for he had envisaged the right to health be exercised by all Nepalis. RSS
