Lalitpur, Sept 14: Sanchrika Samuha has honoured four women journalists working in Capital and mofussil.
At a programme organised here today on the occasion of the 20th annual general meeting of the Samuha, the women journalists were honoured. Bhasa Sharma of Nagarik Daily has been honoured with ‘Sancharika Samanata Puraskar-2072’. The award carries a purse of Rs 15,000.
Similarly, ‘Uma Singh Journalism Puraskar-2072’ was presented to Rama Dahal working in Kavre. The award carries a purse of Rs 7,111.
Likewise, Sharmila Pathak of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti and online journalist Fatima Banu were honoured with ‘Sancharika Protsahan Puraskar’.
On the occasion, former Chairperson of the Samuha, Babita Basnet, said that there are not only challenges before women journalists, but there are possibilities too.
Samuha Chairperson Nirmala Sharma said that the Samuha has been encouraging women journalists to join the profession. She said, “We have working for capacity building of women journalist by organizing different types of training.” RSS
