Kathmandu, Aug 29: Minister for Education Dhaniram Poudel has urged the stakeholders to mark the national education day in an innovative way.
During a meeting of the 7th national education day main organizing committee Monday, Minister Poudel said the slogan of the education day should be compatible with educational policy and programmes.
Similarly, Minister of State for Education, Dhanmaya BK, said the day could be celebrated by addressing the need of modern education.
Bhadra 23 in the lunar calendar is observed every year as the national education day. Even the international literacy day is marked on the same day.
Similarly, Vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University Dr Tirtharaj Khaniya suggested the government that it formed a taskforce and garnered suggestions on how the education day could be marked in an innovative manner.
Chairman of Nepal Teachers’ Federation, Keshav Niraula, stressed that the selection of schools and teachers for awards should be made transparent and participatory.
Various 13 sub-committees have been formed under the main organizing committees to coordinate different activities as coordination, prize selection, cultural programmes, publicity, and souvenir publication.
Officiating Secretary at the Ministry Dr Dilliram Rimal expected the roles of all sides to make the day nationwide and grand. RSS
