Dhading, Oct 25: The District Agriculture Development Office, Dhading on Monday conferred awards to 25 farmers, four students and a journalist on the occasion of 36th World Food Day.
The Agriculture Office in coordination with government and non-governmental organizations connected with agricultural sector took out a morning procession following which the farmers, students and a journalist were felicitated.
At a programme presided over by Local Development Official (LDO), Bhagwan Aryal, Chief District Officer (CDO), Bishwo Prakash Subedi, honoured the awardees with shawls, appreciation letters and cash prizes.
Farmers Keshav Aryal of Nalang – 1, Deepak Shrestha of Kumpur – 3 and Arjun Tripathi of Benighat – 1 were conferred the National Farmer Award carrying a purse of Rs 10,000 each along with appreciation letters.
Annapurna Post correspondent, Mani Dawadi, received Rs 3000 in cash prize along with an appreciation letter for his contribution in development of the agro sector through write – ups.
During the programme, 12 farmers were honoured for their best outcome in production of paddy, maize and wheat while 10 other farmers were honoured for vegetable production and animal husbandry. RSS
