Foreign Minister Mahat off to New Delhi

Kathmandu, Oct 26: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat left here today for New Delhi to take part in a ministerial-level meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission to be held there on Thursday.
Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj is leading the Indian delegation to the meeting in which senior diplomatic officials of both countries are going to participate.
The Commission’s secretarial-level meeting is kicking off in New Delhi today. Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi landed in New Delhi yesterday in course of attending the meeting which is expected to broadly review the implementation status of Nepal-India agreements and ongoing projects under bilateral economic and development cooperation.
Talking to media persons at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) before his departure, Minister Mahat said Nepal is raising its voices for the enforcement of bilateral agreements and acceleration of Nepal-India projects in the ministerial-level meeting.
Besides, the meeting will hold broad discussions regarding the enforcement of bilateral agreements including those signed during Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s recent visit to the southern neighbour and acceleration of the projects under bilateral economic and development cooperation.
The Minister will return home on coming Friday. RSS
