Dolakha, Oct 30: The local political parties have agreed on recommending one municipality and eight village councils in Dolakha as part of the state restructuring process.
During a meeting, the parties’ agreed on sending a recommendation to the State Restructuring Commission for reshuffling Dolakha district to settle on one municipality and eight village councils. The Jiri Municipality comprising Jiri, Mali and Thulopatal VDCs will now be turned into a village council with induction of additional VDCs.
The parties are yet to decide on the demarcation of the border, wards and the centre of the councils and have reached a consensus on taking a decision in this regard through a decisive meeting on November 4.
The Commission had earlier provisioned for seven municipalities and village councils for which the political parties failed to agree on prompting district level technical support committee to recommend nine village councils pending consent from all quarters. The Commission’s latest instruction had called for delineating seven to 11 councils. RSS
