Literati from Indian state of Assam arrive Pokhara

Pokhara, Aug 30: A team of 20 Indian litterateurs from Indian state of Assam have arrived Pokhara on Monday to mark their presence in a literary programme to be jointly organized here by 19 literary organizations.
The team led by Assam-Nepal Literary Friendship Society Chief Dambar Dahal that came Nepal under the Assam-Nepal Literary Friendship Programme was received by the Himali Cultural Family along with 19 local literary organizations.
The delegates were honoured with Dhaka Topi (Nepali traditional hat for men), shawl and Dhaka-made Khada.
Local artistes performed various kinds of folk dance such as Sakhiya,Thakali, Newari, Kaura and Rodhi among others in front of the Indian guests, according to Chetan Karki, Chief Parton of Himali Cultural Family.
Karki underscored such friendship visits and literary activities to promote and propagate Nepali language and literature as well as to unite Nepali diaspora communities across the globe. RSS
