High officials take stock of security plan for Indian President’s visit

Kathmandu, Oct 31: High government officials including the Minister for Defence and the Minister for Foreign Affairs today took stock of the security plan in connection to the imminent visit of the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
The Indian President is paying a three-day state visit to Nepal beginning November 2 at the invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
Defence Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Defence Secretary Shreedhar Sapkota, Foreign Secretary Shankerdas Bairagi, among other officials, acquired information on the security plan from the Nepalese Army.
Chief of the Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri and Chief of Staff Baldev Mahat were also present.
On the occasion, Defence Minister Khand issued instructions for making the security arrangements for the Indian President’s visit with high alertness.
President Bhandari will receive her Indian counterpart at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport on November 2. RSS
