Indian Prez Mukherjee returns home Friday evening

Kathmandu, Nov 4: Wrapping up his three-day state visit to Nepal, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee returned to New Delhi on Friday evening.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari reached the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and bade farewell to Mukherjee amid a special ceremony organized at VVIP Lounge of the TIA. Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ were also present on the occasion.
Before returning, Indian President Mukherjee directly landed in TIA after addressing a function organised by Janakpur Metropolitan City at TirhutiyaGachhi, Janakpur to welcome him. As part of his scheduled programme, President Mukherjee reached Janakpur on Friday, the last day of his Nepal visit.
Addressing the function, the Indian President stated that as friendly neighbour, India wished to see peace and prosperity in Nepal while stressing the need for strengthening mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Also on the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister of the country and Minister for Home Affairs BimalendraNidhi highlighted the current strong cultural and religious ties between Nepal and India and stressed the need for further building the relations through closer cooperation in tourism, infrastructure, trade, investment and connectivity, the statement added.
President Mukherjee of India was received at Janakpur Airport by DPM Nidhi.
Earlier on Friday morning, the Indian President offered prayers at Janaki Mandir in Janakpurdham.
The President also visited Pokhara this afternoon and attended a programme organised at the Pension Paying Office of the Embassy of India. RSS
