Salyan, Nov 7: Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma has said naturalized citizens could not be made the Head of the State. It is unacceptable to him, he added.
During a press meet organized by the FNJ Salyan Chapter here Monday, Minister Sharma said the government would not accept naturalized citizens as the chiefs of the constitutional bodies with the constitution amendment. “The media reports on it are baseless rumours,” he reiterated.
The Minister further argued that preparation for the constitution amendment was underway but not in the way it has been reported outside.
According to him, the impeachment motion was forwarded after holding discussion with Prime Minister, Nepali Congress President and UML Chairman. “Impeachment motion was initiated after CIAA Chief Lokman Singh Karki tried to usurp authority challenging government,” he underscored.
Implementation of constitution and announcement of elections in local bodies were the the major tasks before the government.
On a different note, he said efforts were underway to create atmosphere conducive to people’s investment on hydropower production.
He urged the public on investing in the hydropower projects as Nalsinggad and Uttarganga.
Meanwhile, Energy Minister Sharma inaugurated the Rukum Supply Centre of Nepal Electricity Authority. RSS
