Kathmandu, Nov 7: Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said the diplomatic relation persisting between Nepal and Brazil is friendly however geographically they are far away.
Vice-President Pun said this at a courtesy call paid by Brazilian Ambassador to Nepal Maria Teresa Mesquita Pêssoa at the Office of Vice-President on Monday.
During the meet, Pun recalled completion of the four decades of official relation between Nepal and Brazil while noting that the two countries have a very cordial relation.
Nepal and Brazil had been on diplomatic relation before it was official, he added.
Both the countries are rich in the possession of hydro power, he said, adding that Nepal has to learn many lessons from Brazil to utilize water resource.
Nepal has moved to the pathway to prosperity with the promulgation of the new constitution, he said, adding hydropower is the base of prosperity.
On the occasion, Brazilian Ambassador Pêssoa said Nepal and Brazil have shared a time-honoured diplomatic relation which is very close as well.
Brazil wants to further improve its relation with Nepal, the Ambassador noted. RSS
