Parbat, Nov 11: The acute shortage of essential medicines distributed to the public for free in District Hospital Parbat has sent the patients reeling.
The hospital is facing a shortage of essential medicines as cetamol and iron tablets used by expectant mothers among 17 different types of medicines.
The government has provisioned for providing 70 different tablets cost free to the patients from the hospital, which has been able to only distribute 58 types from primary health centres and 35 types from health posts for free. Parbat has two primary health centres and 52 health posts.
Meanwhile, Parbat Hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr Phanindra Baral, said as the process of purchasing medicines was in the final stages the problem of scarcity of medicines will end within a few days. RSS
