Siraha, Nov 11: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said preparations were underway to amend the constitution to address the demands of all disgruntled groups.
Ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) and the Nepali Congress, and the opposition CPN-UML and Madhes-based political parties had intensified talks in this regard, PM Dahal said on Friday, adding that the amendment proposal would be tabled in the Parliament very soon.
PM Dahal was addressing a public gathering in Siraha.
“Talks are on with NC, UML and Madhes-based political parties. Dialogues will be held with top party leaders today evening as well after I return to Kathmandu,” he said.
Acknowledging his responsibility towards Madhesi people, he said the government had initiated development works in Tarai districts as drinking water, electricity supply and roads.
According to him, the problem of drinking water in the northern belt of Siraha districts was almost solved. Some development priorities in Tarai/Madhes are establishment of Area Administration office, Survey and Land Revenue offices at Mirchaiya, upgradation of Janakpur airport, initiation of airport construction in Siraha and making Siraha District Hospital of 50-bed, he added.
He further said that a foreign employment office would be established in Janakpur, for the first time out of the Kathmandu Valley, within a week for facilitating those willing to go for foreign employment from Tarai districts. RSS
