Kathmandu, Nov 11: The integrated Development Plan, put in place for developing 10 towns located in the vicinity of Mid Hill Highway as well-managed new city areas, has almost come to a final stage.
The government has engaged its efforts to develop Fidim of Panchthar, Basantapur of Terhathum, Khurkot of Sindhuli, Baireni galchhi of Dhading, Dumre Bhansar of Tanahun, Burtibang of Baglung, Chaurjahari of Rukum, Rakam Karnali of Dailekh, Patan of Baitadi and Sanfebagar of Achham as well-appointed cities.
The government has selected 10 cities for infrastructure development since the fiscal year 2067-68 BS. The initiative was taken to develop two well-managed towns in each development region of the country.
According to Engineer at New Towns Project Coordination Office, Shanti Badan Shrestha, the integrated development plan is on the final stage of its preparation to expedite the physical construction works so as to provide well-facilitated towns as residence to 100,000 populations.
“The coordination office has expedited its works in all 10 cities as per the integrated development plan”, he shared, adding that a budget of Rs 1.11 billion has been appropriated for the project this year.
Works are being carried out in a way to complete the plan by coming mid-April. RSS
