Minister Lekhak calls for holding local poll

Kanchanpur, Aug 31: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak has insisted on the need of holding the long-halted local poll to facilitate the constitution enforcement process.
Minister Lekhak who represents the major coalition partner Nepali Congress in the incumbent government said this during his meeting with the party cadres at Bedkot Municipality of Kanchanpur.
He urged the party cadres to remain ready for the local poll as the government was planning to hold it soon.
Development endeavours at the local level had been affected as local poll could not be hold for long. “The government has a plan of holding the local poll within mid-April next year, he added.
Besides, he assured that the government would take initiatives to provide shelter to those displaced by floods and to landless squatters RSS
