Week against human trafficking begins

Kathmandu, Sept 1: A week against human trafficking began here today. The commencement of the week is coincident with the 10th National Day against Trafficking in Persons.
At an interaction with media persons organized by Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare and Mobilization of Media in Sustainable Development Nepal, Ministry’s Secretary Madhu Prasad Regmi appealed for successfully celebrating the week.
During the celebration, interactions will be held with the concerned stakeholders on human trafficking related Act and laws, ideas for eliminating the scourge and its current trend of trafficking.
Likewise, awareness programmes will be held in the local level. A rally will be taken out at 8 am on September 5 from local Brikutimandap.
‘Our common concern and goal is to eliminate human trafficking’ is the theme of this year’s National Day against Trafficking in Persons. RSS
