Upadhyay, Poudyal recommended ambassadors for India, China respectively

Kathmandu, Sept 1: The government has recommended Deep Kumar Upadhyay and Leela Mani Poudyal as the ambassadors to India and China respectively.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers took this decision on Thursday, said government spokesperson Surendra Kumar Karki. Upadhyay serving as Ambassador to India was recalled by the Oli government four months back.
Poudyal is the former chief secretary of the government, and has served as Consulate General in Lhasha.
Meanwhile, the government cancelled the previous government’s nomination of former foreign minister Mahendra Bahadur Pande as the ambassador to China. The exchanges of high level visits between the two neighbours are likely.
Similarly, Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission. Dr Shrestha is an executive director at Nepal Rastra Bank.
Moreover, the Spokesperson said Dr Shreeram Poudel has been appointed economic advisor to the Prime Minister while Dr Rishi Adhikari the foreign affairs advisor.
The government also accepted in principle on formulating the bills relating to the elections of the House of Representatives, Provincial Assembly and the National Assembly. RSS
