Laws on CIEDP will be amended soon: PM Dahal

Kathmandu, Sept 1: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the laws relating to the Commission on Commission on Inquiry of Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) would be amended soon.
During a meeting with a delegation led by CIEDP Chairman Lokendra Mallik at his office, Singha Durbar on Thursday, PM Dahal said he had been aware of the problems the CIEDP was facing. So, efforts would be made to address the resource and budget deficits there, he committed.
With the amendment of the laws, the CIEDP could work smoothly, he hoped.
On the occasion, Chairman Mallik urged the PM for the immediate amendment of the laws to expedite the works. He also briefed the PM of various issues as budget and human resources.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Jay Shankar Naya, and Attorney General Raman Shrestha. RSS
