Demand to fix Rs 30,000 as minimum wage of working journalist

Sindhulimadi, Sept 1: Press Chautari Nepal has demanded that the monthly minimum wage for working journalist should be Rs 30,000.
The minimum wage increment was demanded as per the 13-point declaration endorsed by the central committee meeting of the Press Chautari.
Currently the monthly minimum wage for working journalist is Rs 19,500.
The meeting also strongly demanded the formation of the Advertisement Authority and its early enforcement.
The meeting presided over by Chautari Chairperson Ganesh Basnet welcomed the adoption of ‘National Mass Communications Policy-2073’ and demanded that the Legislature-Parliament formulate necessary laws to implement the policy. RSS
