Solukhumbu, April 7: Youth and Sports Ministry Secretary, Mahesh Prasad Dahal, has said the ministry is pressing for promotion of five ‘Ps’ for development of the sport sector.
Inaugurating the 9th President Running Shield Inter-Secondary Sport Competition on Thursday at Salleri – the district headquarters of Solukhumbu – Secretary Dahal shared that the Ministry under the banner ‘Do not fear to invest in Sport’ was taking steps to promote the five Ps.
The five Ps stand for five words in the Nepali language which are translated as infrastructure development, training, competition, talent selection and motivation.
The Secretary said the Ministry will focus on bigger projects of national interest and sport events. He added that the local level must take the leadership for promoting sport in villages and towns.
A total of 14 schools of the district are taking part in the competition being held at the premises of Janajagriti Secondary School. The three-day event will see men and women’s volleyball tournament and athletics events, District Sport Development Committee Solukhumbbu’s Chairman, DB Nepali said. RSS
