Myagdi, April 9: A belly bridge located at Galeshwor along the Beni – Jomsom road stretch which serves dozens of private and public vehicles on a daily basis is desperately in need of repair and maintenance.
The increase in the number of vehicles traveling to and from Mustang via Rahughat and Upper Myagdi is taking its toll on the bridge. The failure on part of the local authorities to carry out maintenance work is courting risk of accidents.
The bridge has developed holes and cracks. Local, Amrit Man Sherchan, shared that the road department has already been notified of the need to repair the bridge.
The bridge was built by Nepal Army in 2064 BS. Four bridges in Myagdi and Mustang are also in need for repair. RSS
