Parbat, Sept 6: A weekly magazine based in Kushmabazar, the district headquarters of Parbat, has been launched.
The launch of the ‘Bullet News Weekly’ was announced Monday. Journalists Rajbabu PC is its chair while Sarjan Poudel is an editor.
Nepal Press Society’s central chair and Federation of Nepali Journalists ( FNJ) western regional coordinator Rudra Prasad Bhatta launched the newspaper amidst a programme here yesterday.
On the occasion, Bhatta insisted on the continuation of the weekly. He was of the view of giving less priority to politics and speeches of political leaders in journalism. The issues of nation’s development and progress should be advocated through journalism, he stressed. No newspaper should be the mouthpiece of any particular political party.
With the launch of the Bullet News Weekly, the number of Parbat-based newspapers and magazines has reached 16.
Also speaking on the occasion, Naya Shakti Party central member Mahendra Jung Lamichhane stressed that balance and fairness were among the most important factors that help in the continuity of any newspaper.
FNJ Parbat chapter president Durga Prasad Sharma called for collective efforts among the district-based media house to promote professional journalism. RSS
