Nawalparasi, August 4: Three persons including a child went missing after being swept away by flooded rivers and canal in Nawalparasi district.
Two persons including a child went missing on Friday and a person was already ddisappeared since Thursday.
Brijala Gupta, 60, of Palhinandan-3 went missing when he had gone to save a child drowned in a canal.
Similarly, Ibrahim Miya went missing on Thursday after being swept away by
Khajura rivulet.
Police said that search for the missing was underway.
Meanwhile, around 2,000 houses at different places of the district have been inundated following the rainfall taking place from Wednesday. Food Three go missing, over 2,000 houses inundated in Nawalparasi
crop worth of millions of rupees was damaged by the flood, as per the preliminary estimation.
Villages at Palginanda, Sarawal, Pratappur and Susta rural municipalities are affected due to flood, police said.
The floods from swelling rivers such as Jharahi, Rayapurawa, Khajura, Bhaluhi and Paanbhar have entered those villages. Houses made up of mud and hay received more damages due to the flood.
Around 1,000 houses in places as Bargadwa, Amahawan, Nandapur, Phadaharani, Parsam Darkhase, Kali Bartha, Madhavpur and Gobarkatawa tole among others are estimated to have inundated, according to Chairperson of Pratapur Rural Municipality, Raj Kumar Sharma.
