Constitution can be amended based on relevance: UML leader Adhikari

Pokhara, Sept 11: Chairman of the Development Committee under the Legislature-Parliament Rabindra Adhikari has said that the constitution could be amended on the basis that it was a progressive document.
In a press meet organized by the Press Chautari, Kaski Chapter on Sunday, Chairman Adhikari shared that it could be amended analyzing the political stability and its relevance.
He, who is also the central committee member of the main opposition CPN (UML), said that his party was ready to face upcoming elections. He argued that the laws required for the elections should be formulated by Mid September.
“Election in all three levels should be conducted within 18 months as the term of the incumbent parliament could not be extended,” he stressed.
In another note, leader Adhikari urged the government to prepare the procedure to mobilize the fund of Election Constituency Development Programme. RSS
