Kathmandu, Sept 12: The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has rescued two rhino calves that were found injured in the jungle due to an attack of other wild animals.
The CNP assistant preservation officer, Nurendra Aryal informed that they rescued a calf of around eight months from Meghauli and another one of around one month from Amaltari and now have begun treatment to them. He added that both are male calves.
According to veterinarian Kamal Gaire, they might have been attacked by a tiger. Gaire added that the eight-month baby might be the new born of a rhino which was killed in an electric shock at Meghauli Serai Hotel on August 8.
Similarly, another one might have been separated with mother swept away by a flood.
