Industrial sector development through collaboration with private sector: Minister Joshi

Kathmandu, Sept 14: Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi today said the development of the industrial sector would take place only through collaboration with the private sector.
At an interaction on ‘Achievement Review and Programme Implementation Strategy Formulation’ organized by Cottage and Small Industries Development Board here, Minister Joshi added that industrial sector’s development was possible through motivation of small industries in the villages.
Minister Joshi held that the prime challenge faced by the Industry Ministry was to make it industry oriented and pledged Ministry’s readiness to resolve the problems of entrepreneurs. “The employees are equally responsible as the minister in regards out duties at the ministry, so we should all be serious towards our work and develop the industrial sector,” he said.
Minister Joshi, who is also the Nepali Congress central member, said he joined politics to serve the people and appealing to the employees to not create trouble for the people.
Industry Ministry’s Secretary Shanker Prasad Koirala said the industrial sector would develop only if the small industries were protected and by luring foreign investment.
The Board is a medium to upgrade the living standards of the poor people and called for spreading it to all the rural settlements.
Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Vice President Kishor Pradhan said industrialization of agricultural sector could stoke the development of the industrial sector. He urged the Ministry to take in suggestion from the private sector when the government prepares industry policy.
