Kakandvitta, Sept 17: Laxman Sapkota, first mountaineer from the literary sector, has embarked on the Mechi-Mahakali (east-west) walkathon, aiming at creating awareness on progressive literature.
He began the walk carrying a logo of Nepal Academy from Kankadvitta on Saturday. Sapkota had successfully been atop the Imjatse peak (6,200 m) of Solukhumbu district two years ago.
He will complete his journey by reaching Gaddchauki of Mahakali zone on October 4. It may be noted that he is scheduled to attend poetry recitation and interaction programmes at various places during the journey. RSS
