Constitution sidelines Madhes voices: Leader Karna

Kathmandu, Sept 18: Sadbhawana Party Co Chair Laxman Lal Karna has argued that the Madeshi Front had objection to the constitution as it was drafted by ignoring the voices of Madhesi, Tharu, indigenous nationalities and women.
Speaking at a face-to-face programme organised by the Reporters’ Club Nepal here Sunday, Madeshi leader Karna claimed the constitution would not be acceptable to Madesh until it was revised, meeting the aspirations of Madhesi people. He, however, termed the government preparations being made for the constitution amendment positive.
CPN (UML) leader Sherdhan Rai accused the government of being apathetic towards the enforcement of constitution brought after a long struggle.
Likewise, Nepali Congress leader NP Saud said the constitution needs revisions as per the need of time so as to make it a dynamic document.
CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Prabhu Saha said a major political force was put aside while drafting the country’s main law. He underlined the need of fresh amendments so as to make it acceptable to all citizens. RSS
