Dhankuta, Sept 18: Minister for Information and Communications, Surendra Kumar Karki, said that post offices, lacking activities with growing use of internet for information, would be developed as an information centre.
Minister Karki, who arrived here on Sunday to inaugurate FM Relay Station at Bhedetar, said that he has been making attempt to develop post offices as the centres for collecting and distributing information of various kinds.
He said, “The ministry itself has not enough information. But, post offices across the country are without works. I will take initiative to develop the Ministry and post offices as the model and best information centres for the collection of positive news.”
The Communications Minister said that services being provided by the Nepal Telecom would be made effective. Similarly, Radio Nepal, Nepal Television and Gorkhapatra would be developed as the best media of the country.

The five-KW FM station would provide its service in 16 eastern districts. RSS
