Kathmandu, Sept 19:The Nepali Congress marked the 19th death anniversary of veteran democratic leader Ganeshman Singh by organising various nationwide programmes yesterday and today.
A special memorial assembly was organised here today by the party, marking the death anniversary of leader Singh who is revered in the Nepali politics as an ‘iron man’ for his strong determinations that he showed to the country’s politics.
Sharing their views about the personality of leader Singh at most of the local to national-level programmes, the programmes’ participants applauded Singh’s incomparable dedication and contribution to the democratic movement of 1990 of the country. They stressed the need of following the path pioneered by leader Singh to take country’s politics to right track.
They suggested the Congress leaders for following the path shown by the iron man with putting personal interests aside to keep the party pride and dignity intact.
Taking part in an interaction programme organised in the capital today by Ganeshman Singh Foundation, NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba called on party leaders and cadres for respecting and adopting political ideologies possessed by leader Singh. The renowned democratic leader is respected as the ‘Father of Democracy’ in the country and the ‘Supreme Leader of the Nepali Congress’ was born on November 9, 1915.
