Ilam, Oct 4: The Dal Bahadur Memorial Journalism Award has been conferred on Ilam-based journalist, Ganesh Ghimire.
Journalist Ghimire was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and appreciation letter from the revolving fund established in the memory of late Dal Bahadur Basnet by his spouse Bhagiratha Basnet and sons Gajendra, Santosh and Mahesh.
The journalist received the first award under a new rule set up for providing annual award to a scribe contributing through write ups in the cooperatives sector by using the interest drawn from the revolving fund with Rs 100,000 in deposit. Ghimire is an editor with the local Nepalbani FM station. RSS
