Chitwan, Oct 18: A 13 – year – old girl has died while undergoing treatment for scrub typhus in Chitwan district.
The girl from Kalika Municipality – 6 died from scrub typhus, Chitwan Medical College said. Hospital Director, Dr Dayaram Lamsal, said the girl was admitted to the hospital on September 13. She died in course of treatment on Monday.
The number of deaths from scrub typhus in the district has now climbed to three, District Public Health Office, Chitwan’s Kit Controller, Ram KC said.
Two women had died earlier at the same hospital while undergoing treatment for the same disease. A total of 219 patients have tested positive for scrub typhus in Chitwan. RSS
