Kirat Workers announces cessation of armed politics

Kakarvitta, Sept 1:The Kirat Janabadi Workers’ Party remained as an underground armed outfit in the eastern Nepal for the past one decade has announced a cessation of armed and underground activities.
Party’s three-day national gathering that concluded at Birtamod of Jhapa today decided to quit the armed activity and join the peaceful politics.
In a press statement issued after the gathering, party Chair Anant Kranti directed party leaders and cadres to actively get involved in the peaceful political .
The gathering also formed a 51-member new central working committee headed by Kranti. The party was not involved in the armed activities for the past three years since it joined the peace talks with the government. RSS
