TSW launched, ‘Menstrual Hygiene’ campaign

Solukhumbu. The Small World (TSW), a leading social organization of the district, has started a ‘Menstrual Hygiene’ campaign. The campaign was launched by organizing a program in Solududhakunda municipality-6 Thating, the headquarters of Solukhumbu district.
Karma Sherpa, the founder of TSW, said that the organization, which has been doing various works in the educational and physical infrastructure of the district for a long time, has started the ‘Menstrual Hygiene’ campaign program for the first time under the health sector. “The organization has conducted this program to raise awareness about women’s health by conducting more public awareness programs in the health sector for the society.” The founder Sherpa said, “The main objective of the campaign is to remove various negative notions related to women’s monthly menstruation and raise positive public awareness.”
Chief District Officer Devi Pandey (Khatri) speaking from the seat of the chief guest in the program has said that menstruation is not a curse but a blessing and it is not something to be ashamed or ashamed of. “Since it is a matter related to women’s health, we should pay attention to the cleanliness and hygiene of menstruation.” Prajia Pandey said, “You should take good care of your health without bothering anyone during menstruation.
Sanam Sherpa, executive director of the organization, urged to talk openly about reproductive health as it is a woman’s right. Sherpas say that menstruation should be considered as a celebration because creation is incomplete without women and menstruation.
In the program, which started in the presence of girls studying in different classes, teachers, locals, etc., Dalit slums were circled around Dalit settlements with public awareness placards. Founder Sherpa said that the campaign, which started from the Himalayan district of Solukhumbu, will be expanded throughout the country, including the rural parts of the district.
