Energy Minister expresses concern over delay in construction of transmission line

Kathmandu, Sept 12: Minister for Energy, Janardan Sharma, has expressed concern over the delay in the construction works of Dumre-Damauli-Marsyandi 132 KV transmission line project.

Saying the deadline of 70 days for the expansion of Dumre-Damauli-Marsyandi 14-kilometre transmission line was too long, Minister Sharma directed the office-bearers of the Nepal Electricity Authority and Project Chief to curtail the deadline.

He expressed dissatisfaction over delay in construction works of the project and urged the NEA office-bearers to correct the trend of dilly dallying in construction task immediately.
Minister Sharma said, “Make arrangement of technical things yourselves. But I want result within the deadline. Recommend the name of those officials failing to give result within the deadline for the action.”
He also directed to scrap the agreement with the companies failing to complete the construction task within deadline.
On the occasion, NEA office-bearers complained that problems have surfaced for lack of equipments and sufficient number of human resources.

Project Chief Ganesh KC said that they have been making maximum efforts to complete the construction task within the deadline. RSS
