Janakpur, Sept 25: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi has said the Maithili language is very rich.
Releasing a book published by the Maithili Development Fund here Sunday, DPM Nidhi pointed out the need for promoting Maithili language as an office language like Nepali in Province No 2.
He expressed concern that why his views on Hindi language was distorted in media for some days.
“Activities that make Maithili language lively must be continued,” he said, adding that the uncertainty looming large on language would end after the Language Commission brings its report.
On the occasion, litterateur Ram Bharos Kapadi and linguist Professor Dr Ramabatar Yadav pointed out the need of scientific research and dictionary based on the standard of Maithili language. RSS
