Chitwan, Sept 27:Deputy Prime Minister Bimalendra Nidhi this morning made an onsite visit to the site from where a jeep carrying former Minister for Home Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire, four members of his family and his security guard fell off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River on Sunday evening.
DPM Nidhi was accompanied by Home Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi, Nepal Army Lieutenant General Baldev Raj Mahat, Nepal Police Inspector General of Police Upendra Kant Aryal, Armed Police Force Inspector General Durj Kumar Rai, Chief of National Investigation Department Dilip Regmi, among others.
During the visit, the DPM instructed the authorities concerned to take all possible measures to find out the status of all the missing persons in the incident including the former minister.
The Scorpio jeep carrying the former minister, his mother, two younger brothers, nephew and body guard had skidded off the road at Ghoptebhir of Darechowk-3, Chitwan along the Prithvi Highway and fell into the river. The jeep (Ba 9 Cha 1531) was en route to the capital from Mukninath of Mustang after a religious trip.
So far the bodies of three including Ghimire’s mother have been retrieved from the site while driver Bishnu Rai was rescued in a critical condition. RSS
