Kavrepalanchowk, Oct 20: A community shelter is now ready for the people affected by the earthquake of April 25, 2015 at 10 VDCs in Kavrepalanchok.
Constructed at the cost of Rs 50 million, the prefabricated shelter has the capacity for the accommodation of the total 160 quake-affected families. Each block will accommodate five to 16 families with separate toilets for female and male, said Astalal Suwal, Division Chief of the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Dhulikhel.
The location housing the community shelters includes Balthali, Simthali, Bhimkhori, Dhuseni Shivalaya, Kolatebhumedanda, Chalalganeshthan, Baulapati Deupur, Ugratara Janagal, Chysingkharka and Chaubas.
The constructed zinc sheet metal-roofed shelters will be handed over to the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee in a few days, said Suwal. RSS
