Kathmandu, Nov 8: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed concern over the brief arrest of a Kanchanpur-based journalist Dinesh Singh Mahara.
Journalist Mahara, a correspondent with the local ‘Dainik Manaskhanda’ was taken into police confinement for two hours for no particular reason as he was at the District Police Office last Sunday for news reporting. He was arrested as he was waiting for District Superintendent of Police Nain Singha Karki in the waiting room.
The FNJ in a press statement today termed such move as interference in the press freedom and freedom of expression.RSS
