Baitadi, Jan 9: The Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project has been launched in Baitadi.
The District Agriculture Development Office (DADO) launched the project under block and pocket schemes in the ongoing fiscal year, Office’s Chief and Senior Agriculture Development Official, Divyadev Bhatta shared.
As part of the project, a 100 hectares of land will be designated as a single block to grow maize and maize seeds along with vegetables. The Ganjari, Sigash, Shivalinga, Thalakanda, Dungadh, Bhatana, Hat, Nyadeu, Mahadevsthan, Malladehi, Melauli, Salena, Maharudra, Bishalpur and Shivanath VDCs have been selected for maize production.

Moreover, huge stretches of land in Dehimadaun, Salena, Sidhapur, Gokuleshwor, Dhasarathchand Municipality, Gurukhola, Sidheshwor, Maharudra, Chaukham, Bhimraj and Nywali will be selected for growing vegetables.
As par the project, seeding and agriculture mechanization will receive 50 per cent grant while irrigation will receive 85 per cent grant, DADO, Baitadi Information Official, Karna Bahadur Chand said. RSS
