Kathmandu, August 4: Victimology, a book written by Dr Shankar Kumar Shrestha has been released amid a programme in the Capital today.
The book has incorporated a conceptual development of victimology, meaning and definition of crime victim, their rights and responsibility, conceptual development of justice for crime victim and state’s responsibility for them. Published and distributed by Pairabi Prakashan and printed at Academic Printing Press at Putalisadak, the book is priced at Rs 345.
Dr Shrestha has authored around two dozen books including legal dictionary, ‘A Step Towards Victim Justice System Nepalese Perspectives’, ‘Premises for The Victims of Crime’ and ‘Victim Jurisprudence’.
Meanwhile speaking at the programme, author Dr Shrestha rued the failure to make laws related to right of crime victim, even two years after the new constitution was promulgated, which is for the first time in Nepal’s constitutional history, enshrined in article 21 of the Constitution of Nepal, 2072 as fundamental right.
