Baitadi, Nov 7: Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has provided financial assistance to six municipalities in the far – western region including Patan Municipality of Baitadi for purchasing fire engines.
The government under pressure from the locals extended Rs 6 million each to the municipalities to purchase fire engines.
Patan Municipality’s Executive Officer, Dhasarath Ram Od, said that the government allocated the budget with an aim to help the people of the region – which annually faces huge losses in fire – to purchase fire engines.
The Ministry has stated that it provided money to 33 municipalities across the country including the six in far-western region to buy fire engines. RSS
