Kathmandu, Aug. 31: Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Shripaili has expressed commitment that he would make the National Youth Council inclusive.
Receiving a memorandum from the United Youths Civil Society on Wednesday, Minister Shripaili said although the formation of the Council was a very positive move, the politicization on it was quite worrying.
The Minister was made aware that the appointments in the central committee of the Council and other structure were made from a single political party.
Through the memorandum, the Minister was demanded to make appointments from Madhesi, indigenous nationalities, Muslims, Dalit, women and disabled people. The Society has proposed the reshuffles in 60 district committees of the Council.
Chairman of Youth Advocacy Nepal, Naren Khatiwada, stressed that at least two disabled persons in the central structure and one in the district committee need to be ensured. RSS
