Kathmandu, Sept 18: People from various walks of life and Nepali Congress (NC) leaders remembered the late Ganesh Man Singh, NC leader and commander of the democratic movement of 1990, at a programme organised in the Capital today to mark Singh’s 20th Memorial Day.
They also garlanded the statue of Singh at Shobhabhagawati.
Speaking at the event organised by the Ganesh Man Singh Foundation, Singh’s son Prakash Man recognised his contribution to Nepal’s democratic movements and national politics.
Likewise, Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi viewed that the country could develop once political leaders raised themselves beyond their personal interests just like Singh while Minister for Irrigation Dipak Giri featured Singh as an icon of bravery and courage.
Also, other participants like Kathmandu district NC President Sabuj Baniya, lawmaker Rajendra Kumar KC and Kanchan Chandra Wadel identified Singh as an exemplary figure of Nepali politics, saying the country’s political leadership should learn a lesson from him. RSS
